Manager, Process Management

The People, Products, and Data's (PP&D) organization, within the Human Resources Line-of-Business (LoB), is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Process Manager to join its Data Governance Team. The Data Governance (DG) Team is primarily responsible for ensuring that HR data, including External Data Shares (XDSs), stay Well-Managed and complies with the various Data Policies, Standards, and Procedures (PSPs) that Capital One has in place by partnering with key stakeholders, such as Risk, other HR Experiences Teams, and People Technology.

The Process Manager will play a pivotal role in owning BAU HR Data Gov. processes, special Data and Risk projects, supporting Products development, and delivering Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), which will ensure Capital One mitigates risks in both the Data Management and External Data Shares spaces, as well as elevate our overall Data Program. This also includes Data Audit and MRA remediation work, when the occasion arises.

General Responsibilities:

  • Strengthen Data Governance & Management knowledge

  • Learn about HR's Data Domains/ Experience Teams and their data landscape

  • Partner w/ Risk to support the quarterly RCSA write-up for Data Management and XDS Risks

  • Respond to 2nd-line's Data Effective Challenges, where applicable

  • Document key DG processes by creating and maintaining Procedures/ Job Aids to ensure Business Continuity

  • Support Data Audit and MRA remediation, when applicable

  • Partner with Risk and various 1st and 2nd-line Oversight Teams to support joint-initiatives and projects

  • Partner w/ Product and People Tech to support Product development and perform risk assessment

  • Lead the Monthly Performing Data Steward (PDS) Task Force and support them by serving as the Data Governance Subject Matter Expert (SME) for tasks such as data registration, XDS Permit creation, and other related tasks

  • Craft presentations for Leadership, when needed

  • Help draft and test Data Controls to mitigate process risks

  • Act as subject SME to effectively partner with project customers to achieve desired outcome or improvement by acquiring requirements

  • Support Onboarding/ ADS (Additional Data Sources) work into HR's main data repository, People Data Platform (PDP), as needed

  • Monitor HR's Metadata Data Quality (DQ) metrics and support remediation of any issues or elevated metrics

  • Serve as Gov. advisor for data access, incident/ defect identification, and related questions

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience

  • At least 5 years of experience using Microsoft Office or G-Suite

  • At least 2 years of experience in Data Governance or Risk Management

  • At least 3 years of Process Management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Lean, Agile, Six Sigma, Business Process Management, or Project Management certification

  • Familiarity w/ Agile Methodology and Jira

  • At least 4 years of experience in Data Governance

  • At least 4 years of experience in Process Management
