CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Survey Crew Chief - Central/Eastern Connecticut to join our Infrastructure - Transportation & Survey Team at our office in Hartford, CT.

CHA's comprehensive approach to survey and Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) is the hallmark of a successful project. Our approach includes a variety of tools and skillsets from boots on the ground to advanced measurement technology including the use of drones. We are focused on putting all the elements together to create sustainable solutions that result in accurate and precise work.

The Survey Crew Chief - Central/Eastern Connecticut is responsible for using their thorough surveying knowledge to lead the field crew through assigned survey tasks. This individual will be measured on flexibility and ability to complete assigned tasks. The professional in this role is responsible for field crew activities including implementing and adhering to prescribed quality assurance measures and providing professional representation to clients while working at project sites. The Survey Crew Chief - Central/Eastern Connecticut will perform record research, construction stakeout, topographic, transportation, and utility surveys utilizing total stations, data collectors, and GPS. The professional in this role is expected to be familiar with the company's safety, field, and office procedures. Additionally, duties of the Survey Crew Chief - Central/Eastern Connecticut also include performing all field calculations pertaining to traversing, map interpretation, and layout.

REQUIREMENTS
    High school diploma required. A.A.S. and/or B.S. degree preferred
  • NSPS-CST Level II certification preferred
  • LSIT preferred
  • Valid US driver's license required
  • Minimum 3 years' related experience required
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office preferred
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD design software & MicroStation software preferred
  • Good oral and written communications
  • Demonstrates a good knowledge about the surveying industry
  • Strong ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability and desire to meet client driven schedules
  • Must be able to carry equipment over rough, uneven terrain, and physically navigate varying field conditions
  • Ability to travel short-term required
  • Ability to work outdoors in different weather conditions required
  • Ability to represent him/herself and the company in a professional manner to the general public
