STV currently has an opening in the Northeast Region USA for aBusiness Development Managerin our Boston, Massachusetts or Hartford, Connecticut Office to lead, capture, and manage multimodal opportunities for ourTransportation and Infrastructure division. This is a hybrid position (3 days week/in office).

Key responsibilities include:

  • Cultivate strong relationships with new clients, while maintaining existing client relationships, in partnership with technical staff
  • Identify / track new business opportunities and partnering opportunities, focusing on MA and NH
  • Work closely with staff across departments to implement growth and new market strategies
  • Develop and implement sales strategies, client service and retention plans, and analyze sales data to inform or update business development strategies
  • Track, manage, and update all opportunities through a Client Relation Management (CRM) System to develop and meet annual sales and backlog targets
  • Track annual sales targets and work with Business Unit Managers to develop plans to meet growth and backlog goals
  • Work with Business Unit Managers to:
    • Develop and execute win plans for qualified opportunities
    • Develop and execute capture plans for new clients and markets
    • Develop strategies to accelerate opportunities through the pipeline phases
  • Collaborate on proposal team activities throughout pursuit lifecycle, working in partnership with the Business Unit Managers, technical teams, and proposal management team.
  • Support the annual strategic business plan providing all inputs on markets, opportunities, sales targets, and growth targets
  • Track participation in industry associations, seminars, trade shows, and events
  • Attend Business Development events to grow existing client base, including evening events and multi-day expos
  • Work with the Northeast Regional Manager and Business Unit Managers to develop strategies for cultivating prospects and obtaining work

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related degree.
  • History of developing and maintaining effective business relationships with clients and peers and knowledge of the transportation industry.
  • Fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Display initiative, independent thinking, and teamwork.
  • Ability to adapt to changing requirements and situation as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, perform in a business environment, and maintain professionalism in all communications and demeanor.

    Compensation Range:

    $119,450.00 - $159,267.00
